Glen Cove Harbor Patrol Names First Female Harbor Master

With unanimous approval from Mayor Tenke and the Glen Cove City Council, the Glen Cove Harbor Patrol named Anne L. Lamorte the City’s first female Harbor Master.  “Ms. LaMorte, an avid sportswoman, pilot and CFO of Glen Cove’s Industrial Development Agency, will be an outstanding addition to our Harbor Patrol team,” said Mayor Tim Tenke.  In presenting Ms. Lamorte with her Harbor Patrol badge Harbor Patrol Chief John Testa said, “Congratulations Anne and we wish you much success in helping us to keep Glen Cove’s waterways safe and secure for the enjoyment of all.”

The Glen Cove Harbor Patrol are peace officers who work seasonally from late spring to fall to locate, maintain, and assign mooring spaces as well as to maintain navigable channels to ensure the safe and orderly flow of boating traffic in Hempstead Harbor and the Glen Cove Creek.
